Message from Dina Lipton, ADG Local 800 President:

The Art Directors Guild, IATSE Local 800, is comprised of four creative crafts of the most talented artists in the field of Motion Picture and Television Design. Local 800 members include Illustrators and Matte Artists, Set Designers and Model Makers, Scenic, Title and Graphic Artists, along with Assistant Art Directors, Art Directors and Production Designers. Working together as a team to create everything from enchanted worlds to outer space, transporting the audience back in time or recreating realistic familiar environments of today, Local 800 members are the best in the business.

Some of the important work that Local 800 does is to protect the jurisdiction of all crafts, resolve any workplace issues for our members, negotiate contracts, and ensure a safe work environment. In addition, the ADG supports a top-notch education program that provides professional development in all aspects of design, and trains members in cutting edge tools and software.

Local 800 also supports various committees that work on important issues affecting all members, such as the Constitution & Bylaws Committee, Women’s Committee, DEI Committee, Commercial Committee, and Green Committee, along with a variety of craft specific committees.

As a united local, the ADG has the opportunity to work together as a strong cohesive group in the workplace and at the Guild. The best way to get involved is to attend a meeting, join a committee, and run for an office. The Art Directors Guild’s mission is to support and assist the artists of today and create a positive foundation for the artists in the future.
